Student STEM Camp

We are looking for 6th – 12th graders to attend a five-day STEM camp here at the Bowman Gray Center for Medical Education on July 24th – 28th from 8:30 – 12 p.m. each day. A mid-morning snack will be provided, but students will be responsible for their own transportation. Our new facilities are located in the heart of Innovation Quarter and part of this camp will be exploring STEM-related careers and facilities around the area.  Students will also be taking part in Problem and Project-Based Learning cases facilitated by new and veteran PBL instructors.  It will be a fun and exciting week and we hope your student can join us!

Kelsey DoolittleCoaching Tips - Student Engagement

Recent interactions with teachers have consistently raised a question focusing on student engagement. How do I maintain student engagement throughout an extended inquiry like Problem or Project-Based Learning? Engagement and motivation is a tricky area. Our desire is that this develops from within the student but in reality there are many things that compete for that engagement and motivation.

Kelsey DoolittleCoaching Tips - Project-Based Learning & Entrepreneurship

They are struggling with designing experiences where students make connections to the world on their own. This conversation led us to the concept of Entrepreneurship and how Project-Based Learning can really be used to develop it in our classroom.

Kelsey DoolittleCoaching Tips - Connecting Students to the World
