The Best S.E.L.F. (Supportive Enrichment and Learning for Families) program, an employee benefit at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, is hosting a comprehensive Summer Enrichment Program for its 30 student participants the weeks of June 17th and June 24th. This summer experience will educate and prepare students for careers in a health profession through presentations, tours, observations, and clinical experiences.

CERTL received a Student STEM Enrichment Program (SSEP) grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund to create a comprehensive STEM satellite program for female middle school students who attend Surry County Schools entitled Girls in STEM: A Piedmont Triad Initiative. This partnership will deliver a STEM-based yearlong program through an inquiry-based learning (IBL) model that aligns with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, including a weeklong summer intensive STEM experience this July 8th - 12th. This program will serve 20 female middle school students from Surry County Schools to improve their knowledge of STEM-based content and improve their academic performance in order for them to enroll in higher-level STEM classes and possibly pursue careers in STEM-related fields.
